Heal the world

I basically want to heal the world. Since I can't do it on my own and by myself I'm spreading awareness and providing people with the necessary information and tools to help them heal themselves, so they can pay it forward. Of course, through my online programs and trainings I've found a way to reach a bigger audience. But ultimately I want to spread love by inspiring and empowering others to do the same. The only way to change the world is by starting within ourselves, by remembering that we're powerful beings and by becoming whole again. One soul at a time.

The most important relationship you'll ever have, is the one with yourself

One of my favorite phrases is: the most important relationship you'll ever have is the one with yourself.

Your attitude towards yourself, how you feel about yourself, how you treat yourself, what you believe about yourself and how you value yourself determines the things that show up for you and the relationships you have. Basically, it's the most fundamental key to turning your life around. Learn to take care of yourself first. Taking care of others will then come naturally to you and never at your expense. Love does not come with conditions nor the need for sacrifice.

That's why "being the authentic you, effortlessly, and loving yourself completely" are the key ingredients of my coaching practice.

The recovering psychologist

Working as a psychologist I always felt a little bit out of place. I had affinity with highly sensitive people and clients who claimed to have psychic abilities. Anything remotely paranormal was automatically referred to me. Clients felt safe with me to talk about their spiritual experiences.

I also noticed that clients really appreciated the way I worked with them. Through the years I discovered that my practical approach and accessible demeanor I stroke a cord with clients from all walks of life and with varied issues. I always believed that the relationship, trust and respect between a care giver and a client is the most important thing (and this is scientifically proven). Also, I feel that showing our human side helps this process. During my training to become a psychologist I was taught to keep distance and never answer personal questions. I understand that in certain situations and with some types of clients this can be sensible advice, but to me it often felt too restrictive and unnecessary.

I'm also an incurable optimist. Psychologists have the tendency to emphasize disorders and issues and to even "write people off" in a way based on their psychological dynamics. I have a real problem with that. I don't believe in just "coping" with issues, ailments and their consequences. Yes we can learn to deal with issues in new, more efficient ways, but what about eliminating problems, roots and all? That's what I specialize in.

Healing vs Managing

I'm all about the how and why. Why do things happen, why do ailments occur and how can we break the spell, breakthrough blocks and restrictions and heal from within?

I've experienced different chronic pain issues in my life and I found it very unsatisfying to hear from doctors that I "just had to learn to live with them". Since doctors didn't seem to have the answers, I accepted my fate. Subconsciously I kept looking for a cure, relief or solution. The Universe was kind enough to guide me towards healing methods that actually helped me. And now it's my turn to help others.

Why the holistic approach?

I've always believed that the mind is the most powerful asset we posses. I also recognized the potential power that's hidden behind our emotions and bodies. Everything works together and the balance between them all is crucial for our well-being. Essentially, problems arise from imbalances in our energy system. So I could never understand why psychology focused only on the mind and on teaching people how to deal with their circumstances and issues.

It's the same with traditional doctors: they are great at treating acute, life-threating problems, but they can't really help you with more complex and chronic issues. They're also used to dealing with symptom relief.

Consider the event of a tumor, for instance: a doctor can surgically remove the tumor and think the patient is cured, right? But why did the tumor present itself? With that person at that moment in time? Those are questions I feel are worth answering when you actually want to have some control over your own body and life. Besides, there's nothing more empowering than teaching people how to help themselves, right?

Our bodies have this amazing self-healing capacity. everyone knows that, but we've never learned how to consciously make use of that ability. We are so much more capable and powerful than we're led to believe. My mission is to help change that. I hope that conventional and complementary healing methods finally find a way to work together. We need them both!

I also believe that things always happen for a reason: to guide us, teach us something, because of our self-sabotaging mindset or because we're experiencing the consequences of choices we've made in the past.

Since most of our thinking happens on a subconscious level, we're not aware of 90% of the choices we make. So our misery is not our fault. We're not to blame (well, at least most of the time).

And what about choices and consequences that we made lifetimes ago or that are passed on through karmic family ties? We're not aware of them! This kind of issues can plague our lives in the now and prevent us from living a life that's aligned with our soul's purpose. So how can we ignore that?

Psychology once started out as the study of the soul. Nowadays more and more people find their way to spiritual practice. My own experience led me to believe that it's an essential part of our existence. We are souls, having a human experience.

And what about food? I found out years ago how important nutrition is. What about suppressed emotions that can ultimately lead to discomfort and disease? What about the Law of Attraction? The influence of the moon, numbers, the Universe, chakra's? What about following your heart and doing what you know is right?

I can go on and on. It all matters. It's all really important for our well-being. But it's also way too much to take into account and learn about. So I've taken it upon myself to provide holistic coaching in a simple, practical and applicable way.
